Woman Facing Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

When facing a difficult situation, it is easy to focus on all the ways it can go wrong. For example, when authorities bring drug charges against a person, that individual may start thinking about the consequences, conviction, jail time or other negative repercussions that could stem from such charges. However, before latching on to the negative aspects, accused individuals may want to remember that they do have legal options for defending against charges.

One woman in North Carolina may want to take the time to review her options after recently being taken into custody. According to reports, an officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle the woman was driving. No information was provided as to why the officer performed the stop. Nonetheless, the officer allegedly saw drugs inside the vehicle and conducted a search as a result.

The search purportedly uncovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her vehicle. The 42-year-old was then taken into custody on unspecified drug charges. At the time of the report, she had been booked in a county jail on a $2,000 bond. It was unclear whether she has since met that bond.

It is easy to feel overwhelmed and without hope in such a situation. Still, it is possible that the woman could create a meaningful criminal defense against the drug charges that allows her to achieve a favorable outcome to her case. In efforts to put her best foot forward, she may want to gain reliable information and assistance from local North Carolina legal resources.
