Driver Suspected of Violating Traffic Laws in Accident

The traffic laws that drivers must adhere to can vary from state to state. The majority of states have laws against distracted driving, and it is commonplace for laws to exist that require drivers to move over if emergency vehicles are stopped in a lane or on the side of the road. If a driver violates traffic laws, serious accidents and charges could result.

It was recently reported that one person was critically injured in an accident involving a tractor-trailer and stopped fire trucks in North Carolina. Apparently, three fire trucks were stopped in the right lane of the roadway when they were hit by the tractor-trailer. It was unclear why the fire trucks were stopped, but nonetheless, the accident resulted in the tractor-trailer catching on fire. The driver was trapped inside and had to be rescued by firefighters.

The incident resulted in the truck driver suffering critical injuries involving second and third-degree burns to his body. Unfortunately, his difficulties do not stop there. If he survives his injuries, he will likely also face charges relating to the accident. Authorities suspected that the driver may have been distracted or possibly fell asleep before the crash and did not move over for the stopped emergency vehicles.

Of course, other factors could have played a role in the incident as well, and if the man is charged in relation to this North Carolina accident, he will certainly want to understand his legal options. Violations of traffic laws can come with serious consequences if convicted, and this man already has a lot to deal with. When the time comes, it may be in his interests to gain reliable information relating to his criminal defense options in order to approach his case in a meaningful way.
